If you’re thinking about getting into trail running, already trail running a little bit or just a straight up Ryan Sandes type of guy, Wednesday night runs with Trail and Tar are for you. They take place every Wednesday Night, meet at 17:30, run starts at 17:45 at the Tokia Forest (see map below) There is no joining fee or club fees, it’s just 10 buks a run to pay for the Ministry of Defense (other people call him a car guard but I think that’s a bit of a shit title and besides, he does a way better job then a regular car guard). It’s a fun way to meet some new running friends and just generally get fit and motivated.

The whole thing is run by a guy by the name of Noel Ernstzen, half man, half machine, you know that kind of a guy. Don’t be scared off by him though, there are 6 different groups you can go with and they all have pretty interesting and appropriate names. Starting from the Bottom: Walkers, Woggers, Suppa Chilled, Nice and Easy, No Pain No Gain and noels group: Pure Pain. What ever your level of fitness there will be a group for you!

Best of all, and just to keep you motivated, there are the monthly prize giving’s. The way these work is if you attended every Wednesday for a 4-week cycle you go into the draw. The prizes range from a brand new pair of New Balance trainers to windbreakers, generally everyone in the draw walks away with something. All in all it’s a great way to get outside, get fit and meet some interesting people.
